Musician story

I was raised in a family with a strong musical sensibility and diverse musical taste, so from an early age I was exposed to a wide arrange of musical styles, from Latin American folklore and tango to or classical music.

Some time after I finished my secondary school I joined the conservatory Manuel de Falla to study classical guitar, earning the highest qualification among 600 candidates.

Besides my studies in Early Music, I also studied composition in contemporary music in the same conservatory. Early Music became my main field of expertise, and I spent much of my time researching and preparing transcriptions of early music sheets as well as giving talks on the subject. In addition, I enrolled in a course in Latin American Music in the conservatory Luis Gianneo of Mar del Plata to learn the classical repertoire of different Latin American countries, and I attended the National Arts University  where I focussed on the study of contemporary music for guitar.

I was awarded several scholarships during my studies, both from public and private institutions, and I participated and performed in several international and national festivals. I also participated in several  ensembles and orchestras of classical music as well as of popular music and folklore, and I composed a number of short pieces for guitar available on my youtube page.

Tango

My first contact with tango came at the age of 7, when I was a member of the Special Dances Program for children in the Vocational Art Institute of Buenos Aires. Many years later, I returned to my early passion and began taking classes in Salsa, Casino and other Latin dances. It was then that I found tango again, and this became my form of artistic and emotional expression.

My interest always focussed on the traditional approach to  tango, with a strong focus on learning the foundations of the dance. This is why I learned from traditional maestros and attended traditional practicas and milongas where I could explore the tango culture "from the inside". To me, this was the best way to get to know the essence of tango as a type of music and as a dance as much as an integral part of the culture I was raised in.
